temperatures today going to be in the 70s for the high. normal is actually about 70. this morning you can remember yesterday we had 30s and this morning we have 45 in durham. it's now 50 in fayetteville. the temperatures are fluctuating around the sandhills. and 44 in rocky mount. we are 7 degrees warmer compared to yesterday taking some of the chill t of the air. the forecast for the day ahead a bit of fog this morning and 65 at noon with a high of 73. windy at times. the could be a shower or two overnight. the full forecast coming up.

elementary go back to class today after being out for nearly 3 weeks because of the impact of hurricane matthew. >> they finished the school year at a different site in tarboro and that's we find lauren haviland this morning. >> reporter: good morning. 250 students in 19 teachers are going to be relocating to tarboro at the edgecombe county resource center isrt extensive damage inside their school students and staff have been out for nearly 3 weeks. desks were underwater and everything is loss. right now about 80% of the kids are still out of homes. district has been rerouting buses to shelters hotels and other places to try to get the kids to school and they have to keep changing that as families move in the weeks and months to
